. . . i'll just keep posting. look at these GREAT runner's resources. yes yes, you may be thinking "but rachel, you're merely running a measly ol' 5k . . . "
indeed, but in the back of my head i would love to believe that this measly ol' 5k is the start of a little running era in my life. who knows?
well, the first is "halhigdon.com" - his running training resource . . . to promote his books. but whatever, the training schedules are right there! (although i was kind of reminded of the act/ap tests when reading his websites; you know how they put up the preparation schedule and suggest that you allow yourself _____ weeks to prepare for this important exam and you're thinking to yourself "oh shoot, i don't have quiiiite that much time." anyone? oh well, i'm just going to figure that i'm between novice and intermediate . . . right?)
next, we have MapMyRun.com. i could very well be the last person on the planet to know about this, or to have actually used it, but oh well, i - am - lovin' - it!
happy trails . . . ba ha ha.

I live with a tribe of runners. They all love it.
I love being their cheering squad!
Good luck - you do have youth on your side!
hal higdon is the best. I use his schedules to train for my more "serious" races. mapmyrun is ok, but i personally prefer logyourrun.com. I use it daily and also love the iphone app. You should check it out and sign up for an account - there are fewer ads than mapmyrun and the data reporting/review options are far superior to the suite of options offered by other similar sites.
happy running!
