what a fan-tastic morning

First of all, I woke up to a grade A packed suitcase, and I made arrangements to get from the airport to the hotel with two girls I know, and I spoke to the LOVE OF MY LIFE! - AND, I got the prize in the cereal box!!! Can you believe it? Oh yeah, and 24 hours from now I leave for the airport to jet off to paris france for three months!

Oh yes, AND I got this divine notebook last night . . . it's gorgeous. It's got info + blank pages, which is fantastic because I know I'll just be busting with brilliant little thoughts and sketches. Check out what some other fellows put in his/hers:

great, n'est-ce pas?

Well, I'm sure I've got loads of fantastic things to do, like manger le petit déjeuner.

hey rachel, glad to see you liked the notebook. someone gave one of these to me the day before we left Paris on my last day of work... just a few months too late. be sure to keep track of all of the restaurants, shops, and other places you discover since people will be asking you for recommendations for years to come.

anyway, good luck, have fun, and stay away from all of the gross touristy restaurants near metro st-michel.

i'm glad you like the moleskine--it was mine and robbie's idea! i told my mom that we had a couple of suggestions to write in there but i guess that she didn't care for that. but i will at least tell you that the best/cheapest pizza place in paris is called pizza vesuvio, it's in st. germain and on the same street as american apparel (rue gozlin). it's right across the street from the church, you can't miss it. (i am being vague because i'm sure you'll figure this all out soon.) anyway, robbie and i are in love with pizza and france has some REALLY good (and really gross) pizza. and pizza vesuvio is as cheap as 7 euros or so for a takeout pizza. (we really liked the reine pizza.) just be sure to go in the "emporter" door and don't go sit down because their sit down service is HORRIBLE, but the pizzas are made in a wood burning oven and you watch the guy do it and it takes less than 10 minutes. plus, you can share with a friend and then it's REALLY cheap.

for all i know you might hate pizza but i know what it's like to eat like a pauper. (london and dc nearly killed me.) and robbie and i loved to get a pizza and sit and watch people. it was a good summer of pizza eating and people watching. (it might sound a little weird that our favorite thing to eat in france was pizza, but that's just what comes to mind.) of course there's that morroccan place (au p'tit cahoua) which is quite tasty, and eclairs from anywhere (because they are much better than american ones)...

ok, i'll stop now.
