a : bit : more : food : if : you : please

a quick word on each: above: i stole chopsticks from the market {hooray, so much joy that it's crowded out any guilt at all} with glass noodles as many green vegetables as i could chop in time with plenty of soy sauce and pepper. i liked when i had about a tablespoon left with enough pepper still floating around to season a roast beast.
so a quick word on collard greens: they're bitter friends. no matter, i found a recipe that suggested bbq sauce and chipotle as a solution; i shrugged it off as obscure, but when i realized that merely leeks and garlic weren't quite going to cut it, i pulled out the southwestern ingredients and . . . devoured more collard greens that i daresay i'd like to admit. truly delicious + very healthy, my very favorite combination.

i paired it with some cod cooked up with olive oil and lemon juice with some fresh basil {which i decided i would just reunite with her fellow green-leafed friends, which turned out quite well.}
finally, some cookies. i snagged a standard recipe that suite my ingredients, and although it wasn't the greatest recipe {and i could have been wiser regarding my execution} BUT it was a worthwhile experiment; i added loads of ginger {not fresh, they have some at bollywood market that i want to snag and use all over the place} with chopped almonds. success, except for the fact that they were enjoyed in record time consumption. ahem.
