that I have an infatuation with graham crackers? I do. I'm pretty sure I lived off of them for the first couple years of high school. I have tried almost every brand and variation. I know what type of packaging will bring about a crunchier vs. a denser cracker. I can pick out my favorite parts about graham crackers (namely the crispy edge that is usually only on half of them) and I have been very creative in how I eat my crackers.
So, when I realized how neglectful I've been of my favorite pasttime, but not wanting to spend the time/money to go out and buy some, the thought occurred to me that I should just make some. And I did. And I am in such a good place right now. I found the recipe on the adorable smitten kitchen, and I am in heaven. I made a fourth of the batch (and generously tested my own dough for poison, so sweet) and only baked half of that, but I ate each one. Most of them were consumed along side a cold glass of milk - an integral part of my favorite pasttime.
Note - that's not a picture of my own crackers, noticeably because I do NOT like cinnamon/sugar on my graham crackers - pure baby. Anyway, I simply needed to divulge how thrilled I am: a. that grahams are back in my life and b. that they're here to stay . . . and c. that i found a new variation and a new something to make me feel like a real person cooking and all.
