"Alex, on a scale of 1 to 10, how much do you love me?" (I know! So needy!)

He looked up from chopping tomatoes and said, "A billion."

Then, brow furrowed, I asked, "Well, on a scale of 1 to 10, how much do you love me on days that I'm really cranky?"

His answer? "A billion plus one. Because you need it more."

My heart swelled. It was so sweet--and exactly what I needed to hear during my moment of pathetic-ness! I know he'll always be there, to support and love me, no matter what; and I'll do the same for him."
