oh what an ethnic-looking mask can do:

On the left hand, there is the cover for a book on understanding the cultural background of Liberaians in order to ameliorate the difficult situations facing liberian refugees.

On the other hand, we've got Sufjan's new album cover. Apparently the story behind the man this represents is a wild one, but regardless, there it is.

I was so intrigued by these similarities; these "faces" represent such different cultural and demographic backgrounds and serve such divergent purposes. Nevertheless, I'm glad that both have found a place into my little life, a minute intersection in the insignificant life of a student trying to grasp some scope of the world and its music.

(speaking of which, i still stand by cat power as the best.)
